SCEI fatal.lzh NTSC Fatal Fantasy VII Preview (Team Fatal)
Three screen (Japanese coverdisk?) demo of a visually beautiful Final Fantasy skit. As polished as you'd expect from Team Fatal, but too short to act as anything but a sugar-laden preview. Japanese text abounds.
Stick a CD in the drive if you'd like background music.
Takes quite a long time to upload.

SCEI fcemu2.lzh NTSC Famicom Emulator? (???)
I think this is an emulator for the Famicom (NES), but extra files are required and there is no English documentation. I'll keep working at it.

SCEI flower_3.zip NTSC My Flower (Makoto Okuzumi)
The long-time neglected grow'em-up genre at last gains another title.
You play a milk-maid style character - probably named Heidi, and your bizarre mission is to entice objects out of the ground by twirling over them. (In case you've played this before, but just can't figure it out, the 'grow-quota' can be found at the bottom of the screen).
Altered substantially since I last saw this, the game now includes a two player co-operative mode and a larger-than-screen scrolling map. The two player mode favours one player, sometimes annoyingly forcing the other to negotiate peril off-screen - as in the old 'Blues Brothers' (Titus) game.
Overall, enchantingly weird.
Fans of grow'em-up games should also check out 'Pssst' (Ultimate) on their Spectrums.

2d shoot'em-up lusciously rendered in 3d.

SCEI gasgirl.lzh NTSC Gas Girl (K.K. ?)
Hmmm, difficult to explain this one delicately...
The scenario is set when the girl (of Gas Girl fame) is abducted in her sleep. She is hurled into a 2d platform world (rendered beautifully in 3d), and must presumably find her way to freedom. Not having been able to grab so much as a bed-side lamp as a weapon, the resourceful girl harnesses the power of trapped wind to eliminate the bad guys and help to propel herself around.
The game graphics and animation are absolutely beautiful (quite in contrast with the subject material). My major criticism is that some of the jumps are hair-tearingly hard to make.
Although I don't dig toilet humour, I'm willing to set my repulsion aside for the sake of such an otherwise rollicking game.

SCEI hover120.lzh NTSC Hover Racing (Sato Tomokazu)
This game is H-O-T!
Cross WipeOut with Micro Machines, add dashes of Mario Kart and F-Zero and churn in your Yaroze for many hours of enjoyable play-time. There are 4 hover-carts, 9 twisting-turning 3d race tracks and 12 ambient/dance/jungle tunes that will make your ears bleed as much as WipeOut used to.
Memory card support for lap-times and replay videos, and a 2-player race mode just add to the sparkle. The only downside is the upload time.
If the guys responsible haven't been snapped up already, I'll eat my joypad. Go get it!

SCEI insects.lzh NTSC Insects (Iijima)
An intriguing little puzzle game. You (a ladybird) have to reach the goal square on a 10x10 2d map without being physically blocked by the persuing scorpions. To do this you must push blocks, get help from other insects and generally utilise the lie of the land to your advantage.
Will be very suitable for those into heavy lateral thinking.
Creepy, mildly irritating music. English text.

SCEE itslove.zip PAL It's Love (Graeme Evans)
Hey Arnie - put down that gun and add a bit of love to the world...
Enraged by the mindless violence which seems to play such a key part in many of today's games, Graeme offers a most relaxing Yaroze experience. Simple Simon style button-pushing is accompanied by a soothing soundtrack as you attempt a mission of untold kindness. What starts out as a calming diversion soon becomes a frantic dash to try to beat the time limits, which are moderately challenging. The game occasionally does unspecified quirky things - and it's best to reset and retry if this happens. Otherwise, simple but spot on!
Takes a while to load.

SCEI layd100.lzh NTSC Laydion - Limit Breaker (Uny - Hideki Hara)
There's this long, straight tunnel, right, and you have to get your futuristic F1 car from one end to the other in the least time possible. This is no ordinary tunnel, mind. Great big square obstacles litter this tunnel and you have to crash in to as few of them as possible in order to keep your speed up and get the best time.
In essence a very simple game, and as is the case with many simple games, it works very well.
My main criticism would be that the brake button doesn't seem to get much use (the obstacles can all be avoided without slowing down). Additionally, the obstacles can just be crashed through - ones which bounced you back (losing more time) might encourage better speed regulation.
A fun, if limited game (there's only one track). Give it a razz, you might like it.
(In case you were wondering, my best limit from a few plays is 1:45:833)

SCEE looter.zip ? Alien Looter (Ben James)

SCEI lwing.lzh NTSC Little Wing (???)
Surely a first, this game places you at the centre of a paper aeroplane competition. Adjust the weightings and foldings of your plane before launching it in a manner reminiscent of the early Olympics-type games (and countless golf games) by pressing your button when the sweeping value is close to the one you want.
If you do well, you can go and see the professor to trade in your plane for a better model (Concorde, an F-16 and a 747 all make appearances).
The game moves at a sedate, relaxing pace and cute characters abound. It is however difficult to know how to adjust and throw your plane to best effect - this is probably explained in Japanese. Would greatly benefit from a 2 human player battle mode.
There are 5 tunes and a large Japanese storyline amongst the myriad of files to be uploaded.
