New stuff at ~mrfrosty
- 20th October 1998 - The Big Transfer
- The web pages shall soon be prettier and sparklier. The overhaul
starts here!
- 17th September 1998 - Oops! A small correction for the FLibraries Package
- I've placed a corrected version of the FScreen library c-file in the
download section. You'll need to slot this into your template/libs folder
to keep everything running smoothly (although the last one strangely
seemed to work fine during testing)...
- 11th September 1998 - Yaroze Development Template and FLibraries
- FControl has been updated to support NeGcon, mouse and GunCon-45.
I've repackaged it with a couple of other powerful libraries and a finely-tuned
Yaroze development template - suitable for all Yaroze developers. Get
your applications started in double-quick time.
My GDUK audio entry has been slotted into the download section for those
interested in orchestral game tracks.
- 9th September 1998 - ECTS '98 Report
- I've listed the best and worst bits about the recent ECTS '98 for
the curious amongst you.
- 1st September 1998 - ECTS '98 Entry Posted
- A deluxe version of Snowball Fight is now available in the
download section - rewritten from scratch and given the Mr. Sheen treatment.
The job offer advertisement has been removed.
I've split the links section up so that it's easier to find Yaroze resources.
BTW, did you manage to get past the bouncer on the way in?
- 12th August 1998 - Exclusive info about games job openings
- I thought I'd pass this great opportunity on to the rest of you.
Good luck!
- 11th August 1998 - A Rather Interesting Rumour
- The astute amongst you will already have caught whiff of a brand
spanking new rumour.
Is there any truth to it?
My lips are (for the moment) sealed...

- 5th August 1998 - New Chat-Host, Rant Section and Barrel Scraper Pack
- There seemed to be quite a few problems with the ParaChat room, so
I've replaced it with the inferior (in my opinion) ChatPlanet site.
Unfortunately this is publically accessible, although not advertised,
so please be aware who you are talking with - any problems should be
reported to me.
The rather weak 'Barrel-Scraper Pack 1' arrives at the download section to
absolutely no critical acclaim (I figured I ought to post something up, as
my programming attentions have been focussed on hushed projects for a while)...
...Speaking of which, there's a little snippet about my GDUK competition entry
on the projects page.
James Russell's superb Yaroze FAQ can be found in the 24C section (with
a couple of suggested additions from myself).
My somewhat lengthy newsgroup post about emulation heralds the debut of the
'Rant Section'.
Lastly, there's a link to my brand new public page.
- 24th June 1998 - The Yaroze Chat Room Opens!
- I've blagged a chat-room from those ever-so-nice people at Xoom.
There should be room for twenty-five at a time, so I don't think there'll
be too much of a problem with overcrowding.
Make the most of it, guys!
- 11th June 1998 - Links and Libs, Mainly
- Crikey, I've been a bit quiet recently. Maybe this'll make up...
Over one hundred quality links for you to try out.
Details of a new project I'm spending some of my time working on.
Jonnathon Tann's animation library.
Jeff Lawton's starfield library and tweaked WAD software.
The 24C Troubleshooter section amended.
- 21st April 1998 - More Downloads and Reviews
- I've posted the latest version of my control pad library into the
download section and Jeff Lawton's latest IDE into the Yaroze World
section, along with an updated version of his compression utility.
There's four more reviews in the 24C section.
- 26th March 1998 - The Nemesis Host Section arrives
- Jeff Lawton's new group has a section on my pages. You'll be able
to find 'Nemesis' tools and software here.
I've put some screenshots from 'Snowball Fight' on the projects page,
for anyone who hasn't played it yet.
- 23rd March 1998 - Bug Fix Information and Links Amended
- The fix for the screen environment has been posted in the 24C
resource (tip 'o the hat to Alex Herbert).
The NY member links section and 24C review links section have been
expanded.
- 12th March 1998 - Snowball Fight is Here!
- My EDGE competition entry has been posted.
- 24th February 1998 - Funky Spirals, Links and a Screenshot
- A dinky feedback routine (with source) has been added to the
download section.
The links section has grown again and you can find a tantalizing
screenshot of my current pet project...
- 5th February 1998 - Projects, Reviews and Logos
- There's a new section to tell you about my current projects.
I've also been messing around with Extreme 3D, so my site now has some
pretty new logos (apologies to those with text-only browsers!). I've
put a couple in the download section if you'd like to use them to link
to my page.
The file structure of my site has been reorganised to help me maintain it -
please tell me if you find any broken links or images, thanks.
More reviews, NY member links and outside links have been added.
- 19th January 1998 - More Yaroze reviews and slight cosmetic changes
- The reviews listing has been split across four sensibly-sized pages.
My index page has also been given a slight facelift.
I've added a few reviews and corrected a stupid cut-and-paste mistake in
all the previous reviews (they are now dated 1998 instead of 1997!).
- 9th January 1998 - The Grand Opening of the Yaroze Reviews Section in the 24C
- There's some VERY HOT Yaroze stuff out there and here's the
beginnings of a definitive resource which tells you what, why and where.
Also check it out if you've got something you'd like reviewed...
- 5th January 1998 - Shadebob Lightsynth Effect and screenshots
- New to the download section is my experiment with transparent sprites.
Any fans of Yak's lightsynth stuff should give this a go - anybody who
hasn't touched a lightsynth ought to try it. It's compatible with the
standard pad, but an enhanced experience can be gained by using the
analogue pad - check out the screenshots of this and the GlintBox demo in the download
section (thanks to S.Ashley for the screen grabber).
Newsgroups have been added to the NY Links section.
My 'Black Magic' commercial distribution idea has been added to the 24C
resource.
- 12th December 1997 - FControl Library
- FControl.h for handling Playstation controllers has been added to the download
section.
- 9th December 1997 - Major Miscellaneous Resource Additions
- I've added a large section about controllers and memory cards to the
24C resource (information taken from the official SCEA site and reorganised).
An acrobat file detailing file formats (produced by SCE) has also been added
to the downloads section.
A paragraph about analogue stick control has been included in the 24C Scaling
Systems information.
My code concerning control pads has been removed because it was a little
confusing.
- 24th November 1997 - Scale Systems and the Return of the Webcounter!
- An article on scaling systems has been added to the 24C Resource,
as a suggestion of how to handle game world objects with the
greatest flexibility.
The web-counter has been reinstated (for a trial period, to see
if it is behaving again).
'Local Links' renamed 'NY Member Links' so that SCEA/SCEI members
may be added.
- 4th November 1997 - Glint Box Demo
- Glint Box (v1.0) source code added to the download section.
Nemickol's defunct Yaroze web site removed from the links page.
- 15th October 1997 - Analogue Controllers Cured
- There's information about how to make sure that analogue controllers
behave in the 24C Resource.
- 10th October 1997 - Minor Mechanical Improvements
- I've fixed the web address at the tail of each page, fixed the local
links and removed the broken web-counter. I'm just keeping my fingers
crossed that Sony doesn't move us all again. At least my internal links
are relative ones - so they survived intact. The external links have
been fixed and improved too.
- 9th October 1997 - A Complete Site Overhaul
- I've eventually got round to placing my sparkly new pages on the
web, a full four months after I improved them - still, that's University
holidays for you... These pages are now sleeker, slicker and smoother -
the 24 Carat Resource is beginning to develop and cute little
icons are scattered around the site. You can also download a mini bumper
sticker to put on your own web page.
- 5th June 1997 - Links Added
- There's a link to my games page at Geocities and links to some helpful
Net Yaroze member pages.
